In 1964, the Border Patrol Police Region 5, Dararasmi Camp, Mae Rim District, Chiang Mai Province, selected Mr. Jafa Chaiyako (the father of Mr. Suphot Chaiyako, a director of Thai Lahu Coffee and Tea Co., Ltd.) to be a member of the Hill Tribe Development Unit of the Border Patrol Police Region 5. Later, a pilot project was established to develop and promote sustainable Doi Pu Muen tea and coffee plantations, which received support in terms of knowledge and academics from relevant government and private agencies in developing and promoting sustainable agricultural careers, along with promoting the conservation of natural resources and beautiful tribal cultures to coexist with forests, water sources, and the way of life of the tribes in order to use existing resources to their fullest potential and sustainably. From generation to generation, the business has been developed into a formal and standardized format to increase distribution channels for products to consumers directly and to distribute income to farmers in the area. Therefore, Thai Lahu Coffee and Tea Co., Ltd. was established to purchase agricultural products and distribute organic coffee and tea products under the trademark “Doi Pu Muen”.

Thai Lahu Coffee and Tea Co., Ltd. is a manufacturer of quality organic coffee, Assam tea, Pu'er tea and Gynostemma pentaphyllum on Doi Pu Muen, approximately 1,250 meters above sea level. We focus on environmentally friendly and high-quality production to maintain the highest value for consumers and purchase products at fair trade prices from farmers who grow coffee and tea in the area to create careers and employment for sustainability and happiness for both producers.
Thai Lahu Coffee and Tea Co., Ltd. has a variety of processed tea and coffee products, such as roasted coffee beans, ground roasted coffee beans, Assam tea, Gynostemma pentaphyllum in tea bags, etc. What we consider above all else is the consistent quality and standards of every product that meets the specified standards, with every step controlled from the raw materials used, the cleanliness of the production building, production equipment, hygiene of production personnel and production operations. The company focuses on continuously developing its quality management system to create customer satisfaction until it has been certified by USDA, Halal and FDA for both the plantation and the factory.
